Keep Your Cool & Your Cash

It’s summertime, and you know what that means: sweltering temperatures across Central Florida. Rising temperatures can cause higher bills than previous months, and in order to help you beat the heat, we’ve put together a guide full of tips to save money by using energy efficiently.

each number for ways to manage your thermostat.

78° is the recommended setting to save energy during summer months.
Keep your A/C set to auto.
Each degree above 78 saves 6% to 8% on your cooling bill.
Each degree below 78 will require 2% to 7% more energy, which means a higher bill.
Updating to a smart thermostat can save up to 10% on cooling costs.

Every Degree Counts

Cooling your home can account for half of your summer power use, so cutting back here is a good way to save.

Keep your thermostat set to 78 degrees or higher. To feel cooler, turn on ceiling fans, but remember to switch them off when you leave the room. Also, use shades, drapes and blinds to keep the sun and heat out.
