Standing out as The Reliable One since 1923.
With your support, Project CARE helps provide emergency assistance to those in our community who have experienced a recent personal or family crisis that has placed them in danger of losing their utility service.
Project CARE raises thousands of dollars each year through customer donations that are matched by OUC. Since its inception in December of 1994, Project CARE has raised more than $2 million, helping thousands of families and individuals in need.
Won't you please help? Simply log in into your myOUC account then select the Billing & Payment option. Click on Project CARE and select the blue Enroll in Project CARE button.
For every $1 you donate, OUC will contribute $2 to the program. You can add $1, $2, $5, or a specified amount to your monthly bill.
All funds for the program are collected by OUC and turned over to Heart of Florida United Way, a local, non-profit community assistance agency. OUC customers who need assistance should call United Way at 2-1-1. United Way will then help the customer locate an agency near their home so that eligibility and need can be determined.
Under the program, a household can receive a maximum benefit of $500 in a one-year period. It is not the intent of the program to pay chronic or long-term debt, but to assist those who are experiencing temporary financial hardship.
You may add $1, $2, $5, or a specified amount to your monthly bill. One-time donations can be made directly to the Community Services Network.
If you are an OUC customer who needs assistance, please call United Way 2-1-1.
