Utility celebrates centennial anniversary; 10 nonprofits receive funds

ORLANDO, FL. – More than $100,000 was raised by 144 golfers at the annual OUC Charity Golf Tournament held Feb. 25 at Shingle Creek Golf Club.

To begin OUC’s centennial anniversary, the utility donated tournament proceeds of $10,000 each to 10 charities in Orange and Osceola counties. Each strives to make a difference through economic development, education, environmental stewardship and social impact.

Since 1995, OUC’s annual Charity Golf Tournament has donated nearly $1 million benefiting 66 local charities. Along with more than 50 sponsors who participated in this year’s event, OUC is proud to donate proceeds to the following nonprofits:

  • A Gift For Teaching
  • Canine Companions
  • Central Florida Community Arts
  • Florida Urban Forestry Council
  • Grace Medical Home
  • Legends Academy
  • National Entrepreneur Center
  • Osceola Council on Aging
  • St. Cloud Main Street
  • McCormick Research Institute

OUC is honored to partner with these organizations that are making a profound impact in the Central Florida community,” said Linda Ferrone, OUC’s Chief Customer & Marketing Officer. “A day of engagement in support of great causes is the perfect way to kick off the celebration of OUC’s centennial year.
