Detailed Insights

Many devices offer detailed energy reports to keep track of usage.

Before You Get Started

  1. Discover eligible smart thermostat devices through ENERGY STAR®’s certified product list.
  2. It’s best to choose a smart thermostat that is compatible with your heating and cooling system. If you have a high‑efficiency HVAC system, use a thermostat made by the same brand to ensure the system performs at its highest efficiency.
  3. Each product uses slightly different features to help you save energy, so choose a device that is right for you. Common features range from remote control, geofencing and even temperature preference learning.
