Window Film or Solar Screen | $0.55 per sqft.

By applying these items to your windows, you can reduce the amount of solar heat that passes through, which can reduce your cooling costs and electric bill.

Before You Get Started

  1. Choose which east-, west-, and south-facing windows you’d like to enhance.
  2. Learn more about window films and solar screens on energy.gov. Both offer relief from the sun but differ in appearance and functionality.
  3. Measure windows and gather any necessary tools and materials to prepare windows if opting for self-installation or consult with a professional for assistance.

Submitting Your Rebate Application

Be prepared to provide us with the following documents:

  1. A copy of the invoice(s) for the purchase of the installed product(s), which must list the type of product and total square footage installed or individual window measurements.
  2. A copy of the manufacturer’s specification sheet.
    • The Shading Coefficient (SC) of film or screen must be 0.5 or less and noted on the invoice. If the Shading Coefficient (SC) is not listed, the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) must be 0.435 or less to qualify (SC = SHGC/0.87).
  3. For self-installation projects, please provide the dimensions of each window where the film was installed for square footage calculations.
Rebate Requirements & FAQs

Requirements: All receipts/invoices must be dated and submitted within six (6) months of the date of purchase.

Eligibility: Available to OUC electric customers. Only products applied to east-, west- and south-facing windows qualify.

Reimbursement: Customers will receive an approval email once the application has been submitted, reviewed and approved by one of our conservation support specialists. Rebate will be paid as a credit on your bill.

Exemptions: Not available for OUC water-only customers. This rebate is not available for north-facing windows. Adding window film or solar screens to ENERGY STAR® qualified double pane windows does not qualify for this rebate.
