OUC THE MOST RELIABLE ONE IN FLORIDA
ORLANDO - For the sixth year in a row, OUC—The Reliable One has lived up to its name by providing the most reliable electric service in Florida. The 2006 data that was recently released by Florida’s Public Service Commission shows OUC finishing well ahead of Florida’s investor-owned utilities in key performance areas that measure overall electric reliability:
System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI)**: By this measure, OUC is 100 percent more reliable than the next closest finisher. SAIDI measures the average amount of time a customer is without power during the course of a year. By PSC rule, outages caused by named storms are not included in these calculations. OUC maintains more than 2,300 miles of electric transmission and distribution lines over its 375-square-mile service area
“Each year OUC proves to truly be ‘The Reliable One,’ ” General Manager and CEO
Ken Ksionek said. “Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our employees, OUC
customers can rest assured that they will continue to get the most reliable and
safe electric service in Florida.” Established in 1923 by a special act of the Florida Legislature, OUC—The Reliable One is the second largest municipal utility in Florida. OUC provides electric and water services to more than 196,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties. |
