“I continue to be honored to represent the ratepayers by my association with this Commission,” Bell said. “OUC is an incredibly well-run organization and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.”

Ksionek said: “I thank the Commission for the vote of confidence in my staff and in me that this reappointment represents.”

OUC’s award-winning electric and water operations continued to thrive in the past year under the leadership of Bell and Ksionek. In 2006, PA Consulting Group named OUC the most reliable electric utility in the southeastern United States for the third time in five years.

OUC also won several other prestigious industry and community awards, including: Reliable Public Power ProviderTM recognition from the American Public Power Association; Gold Award from the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies; Florida Municipal Electric Association's 2006 Community Service Award; and a Top 25 finish in the Orlando Sentinel’s “Top 100 Companies for Working Families.”

Bell, who is retired from Agere Systems, is a former executive board member and past chairman of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and also serves on the boards of the Preserve Eatonville Community, Orlando/Orange County COMPACT and Red Cross of Central Florida. He is a graduate of Leadership Orlando and Leadership Florida.

A 22-year OUC employee, Ksionek has served in many leadership positions, including: Vice President of Energy Delivery; Managing Director of Transmission and Distribution; Director of Construction for the Stanton Energy Center; and Director of Capital Projects for Electric Operations.

In its annual election of officers, OUC's governing board also named Katie Porta first vice president and Tommy Boroughs second vice president.

Established in 1923 by a special act of the Florida Legislature, OUC—The Reliable One is the second largest municipal utility in Florida. OUC provides electric and water services to more than 196,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties.
