OUC WEATHERS ERNESTO WITH FLYING COLORS
No Significant Impact as Storm Passes Through OUC Territory

ORLANDO - OUC-The Reliable One had personnel and outside contractors on standby Wednesday, but Tropical Depression Ernesto passed through Central Florida without significant impact on OUC's service territory.

OUC is ready to send electric and water crews, as needed, to other areas affected by Ernesto, which regained tropical storm strength over the Atlantic Gulf Stream Wednesday night.

Although Ernesto had little impact on Central Florida, OUC urges residents to continue to review their hurricane plans and remain prepared for the remainder of hurricane season. For important storm preparation information, visit OUC’s online Storm Center.

The site features information about generator safety, tree trimming, power generation and restoration priorities and includes links to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) site. The Storm Center also offers the OUC Hurricane Guide and storm preparedness audio tips that are downloadable to any MP3 player.

Established in 1923 by a special act of the Florida Legislature, OUC
—The Reliable One is the second largest municipal utility in Florida. OUC provides electric and water services to more than 196,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties.
