OUC TO HOST HURRICANE READINESS MEETINGS
Utility Offers Customers Reliable Information for Hurricane Season

ORLANDO – OUC—The Reliable One, in partnership with the Cities of Orlando and St. Cloud and WESH 2 News, is hosting neighborhood meetings throughout its service area to discuss hurricane preparation and power restoration after a storm.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season begins June 1, but recent surveys show that many Gulf and Atlantic Coast residents have not prepared a family disaster plan or hurricane survival kit.

These hurricane preparedness meetings will address what residents can expect before and after a hurricane, and participants can ask utility and city representatives about specific issues regarding hurricane preparedness, response and safety. Representatives from the Cities of Orlando or St. Cloud will discuss emergency response, stormwater, trees and other safety issues.

WESH 2 Weather Team meteorologists Leslie Hudson, Dave Marsh, Ivan Cabrera and Tony Mainolfi also are scheduled to attend the meetings to talk about the forecast for this hurricane season.

At the meetings, residents can pick up a free 2006 OUC Hurricane Guide and sign up for a chance to win a raffle prize.
