OUC Mourns Deaths of Visiting Linemen

ORLANDO The Orlando Utilities Commission is deeply saddened by the deaths of two visiting electric line workers from PAR Electric. The men were involved in a fatal traffic accident on Interstate 4 earlier today.

“Our hearts go out to their families and coworkers,” said Ken Ksionek, OUC general manager and CEO. “These men made great personal sacrifices to come here and help us rebuild our city in the aftermath of Hurricane Charley.”

“Our employees are saddened by the loss of these two visiting linemen and have already asked for ways to show their condolences and comfort their family members. We will be working on that in the coming days,” Ksionek adds.

“The citizens of Orlando will be forever grateful to these men who came to our assistance in our time of need. My condolences go out to their families and loved ones,” said Mayor Buddy Dyer upon learning of the accident.

The men were part of a 52-person contingent from PAR Electric and were headed home after one week in Orlando.

PAR Electric is based in Kansas City, Missouri and is one of the largest electrical contracting companies in the United States.

Established in 1923 and owned by the citizens of Orlando, OUC—The Reliable One provides electric and water services to more than 190,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange and Osceola counties. OUC is the second-largest public power utility in Florida.
