OUC Earns Two Statewide Awards For PR Efforts
Utility recognized for outstanding campaign, water report
Orlando (August 5, 2003)
– OUC has earned statewide kudos for its "Reliable One" public relations campaign and its 2002 Water Quality Report.
OUC received Awards of Distinction for both efforts during the Florida Public Relations Association's Golden Image Awards ceremony. The event was held during FPRA's 65th Annual Conference on August 5, 2003 in Orlando.
The Awards of Distinction recognize OUC's ongoing efforts to communicate effectively with customers, media, business partners and the entire Central Florida community.
OUC's Winning Entries

The utility planned and implemented a yearlong PR campaign to strengthen its brand as "The Reliable One" and boost positive customer perception of OUC. The campaign led to the utility's best-ever customer opinion results.

With its messages of drinking-water safety and conservation, OUC's 2002 Water Quality Report, titled "It's All About Conservation & Quality," helped improve perception of OUC water in several key ways. Follow-up research showed higher levels of overall customer satisfaction plus improved perceptions of water-service value. OUC wrote the contents of the report and crafted its message, while Wordwise Inc. designed the piece. To download a copy go to:
