Lonnie Bell Joins OUC Governing Board ORLANDO (April 18, 2002) – Lonnie C. Bell has been elected to serve a four-year term on the governing board of the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC—The Reliable One).
"Mr. Bell's experience in manufacturing, human resources, workforce relations and community relations will be a great asset to our half-billion-dollar energy and water business," said Bob Haven, OUC's General Manager and CEO. Bell is an executive board member and current chairman of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the boards of the Florida Chamber, Orlando/Orange County COMPACT and Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau. He is a graduate of Leadership Orlando and Leadership Florida. Tico Perez, President of OUC's governing board, praised Bell's strong commitment to the community. "Having worked side-by-side with Lonnie at the Chamber and in other areas of the community, I am confident that he will represent our customers and citizen-stakeholders well," Perez said. Bell succeeds Ray McCleese, who recently completed 10 years of service on the OUC governing board, which is known as the Commission. The other Commission members are Tico Perez (President), Tommy Boroughs (First Vice President), Dr. Carol Wilson (Second Vice President) and Orlando Mayor Glenda E. Hood. OUC—The Reliable One is a municipal utility owned by the City of Orlando. It provides electricity and water services to more than 190,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of Orange and Osceola counties.
