New Web Service From OUC Helps Households Save

ORLANDO (August 10, 2001)OUC—The Reliable One is making it easier for Web-savvy consumers to track their home energy consumption – and ultimately save power and money.

OUC’s new Online Home Energy Audit lets residential electric users – OUC customers and others – review their annual, seasonal and daily costs for cooling, heating, lighting and other household appliances. The audit uses an individual’s consumption history, along with other household information, to generate a detailed usage report as well as customized tips for saving energy. The service is free of charge.

“At OUC, energy conservation and education have always been top priorities,” says Bob Haven, general manager and CEO. “The Online Home Energy Audit is an important new part of this effort, as it teaches residential users how to save on energy costs by making their homes more energy efficient.”

To conduct an Online Home Energy Audit, visit the OUC Web site at www.ouc.com. The audit requires information from one or more recent electric bills, as well as basic information on household appliance usage, and takes less than five minutes to complete.

OUC—The Reliable One is a municipal utility owned by the City of Orlando. It provides electricity and water services to more than 165,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange County.
