OUC Brightens Up Citrus Bowl
Stadium outfitted with higher-output, energy-efficient lights

ORLANDO (July 18, 2001)Sports fans are seeing things more clearly at the Citrus Bowl, thanks to OUC–The Reliable One.

Under a new 10-year contract with the City of Orlando, OUC’s lighting division – OUConvenient Lighting – is providing complete installation and maintenance of the Citrus Bowl’s field lighting. OUC recently replaced the stadium’s aging field lights (480 fixtures) with higher-output, energy-efficient lights (240 fixtures).

"We’re now using fewer fixtures, but their candle power is astonishing," says Bill Becker, director of the Orlando Centroplex, which manages the Citrus Bowl and the city’s other public assembly facilities. "We’re getting more brightness for our dollar – and the lights look great. Of course the biggest advantage is having OUC handle all of the maintenance."

OUConvenient Lighting offers a wide variety of hassle-free, cost-effective lighting solutions. There are no up-front capital costs for customers – all they do is pay a monthly service fee. "From retrofits to new fixtures, we design, install and maintain complete lighting packages," says Dan Seabrook, OUC’s manager of commercial markets. "They’re all customized to meet specific business and commercial needs."

Other large OUConvenient Lighting customers include the Orange County Convention Center, Terracotta Business Park and Ventura Country Club.

OUC—The Reliable One provides electricity and water services to more than 165,000 customers in Orlando, St. Cloud and parts of unincorporated Orange County.
