OUC's new downtown customer service center going for Gold

NOW AND THEN: New Reliable Plaza (left) stands next to the old OUC building in downtown Orlando.

After 40 years of calling South Orange Avenue home, OUC will move to Reliable Plaza — our new energy and water efficient center — on November 3, 2008.

Located at 100 West Anderson Street, this “Greenest Building in Downtown Orlando” is designed to meet Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. OUC's new home will showcase a number of environmentally friendly features and use 28 percent less energy and 40 percent less water than a similarly sized facility.

Reliable Plaza has earned a Florida Water Star certification, which is a voluntary program for new and existing construction that encourages water efficiency in appliances, plumbing fixtures, irrigation systems and landscapes.

Our new location also will help us provide even better service to customers with convenient drive-through payment windows, ample parking and a conservation education center with energy and water saving tips customers can try at home.

Beginning in November, all downtown residential and commercial services will be located at Reliable Plaza. At that time, the old OUC building and the current customer service center on Jefferson Avenue will close.
