OUC Golf Tournament 2013

Giving Back

Whether Riding 4 Ronald, running the OUC Orlando Half Marathon or donating to our emergency utility assistance program (Project Care), we are passionate about making our community the best place to live, work and play. That means working hard every day to deliver the essential services our customers rely on, and then going the extra mile to give back to our community.

Project CARE: Project CARE is OUC’s emergency assistance program to help those in our community who experience a personal or family crisis that places them in danger of losing their utility service. OUC sponsors a dedicated case worker at United Way 2-1-1 to handle utility assistance inquiries and direct those customers to additional resources they may need. OUC customers and employees have the opportunity to contribute to this fund.  For every $1 donated, OUC will contribute $2 to the program. Visit the Project CARE page.Community Impact at a Glance

OUCares: OUC’s annual employee giving campaign through United Way and United Arts that supports a variety of non-profit organizations in our community.

Proud Volunteers: A program encourages and rewards employees for their volunteer work in the community. Every year OUC employees donate more than 10,000 hours of their time to numerous organizations in Central Florida.

OUC Charity Golf Tournament: Since 1995, the OUC Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $687,000 to support more than 50+ Central Florida non-profit agencies working to better our community.

OUC Orlando Half Marathon & Track Shack Lake Eola 5k: Each December, the annual OUC Orlando Half Marathon & Track Shack Lake Eola 5K races through the streets of downtown Orlando. In December 2017, OUC sponsored the 41st annual OUC Orlando Half Marathon and Track Shack Lake Eola 5k – the premiere running event held in the heart of downtown Orlando with more than 3,500 runners participating each year. By tapping water from OUC hydrants along the race, OUC eliminated the need for 2,700 plastic gallon jugs. That’s just one of the reasons why the event is Florida’s first and only race to earn the Silver Certification from the Council for Responsible Sport. Visit the OUC Orlando Half Marathon page for more information.

Ronald McDonald House of Central Florida’s Ride-4-Ronald: In November 2017, OUC participated in the 8th annual Ride-4-Ronald bike ride to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. In 2017, 61 OUC employees and family members pedaled more than 1,200 miles and won 2nd place as Top Fundraising Team with more than $15,000 raised. The Ronald McDonald House provides lodging to families with children who require hospital stays.

OUC Celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: OUC employees honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the City of Orlando’s 34th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade in Downtown. Theme for 2018: His Voice, His Teachings, His Love for Humanity.
