At OUC, we're committed to living up to our name as The Reliable One. We work around the clock to make sure we continue to provide reliable, affordable, clean power to our customers. From our year-round tree trimming program to the undergrounding of new services, we're always seeking to prevent outages.
Year in and year out, OUC has performed well ahead of Florida's four largest utilities in key measurements of electric reliability, including average restoration time and average number of outage minutes per year, as measured by Florida Public Service Commission. OUC customers were the least likely to lose power, but when they did, we restored power nearly twice as fast as any other service provider.
So when outages do occur, you can expect our crews to respond quickly to restore power promptly and safely. We know it's never a convenient time to be without power so to help keep you informed about outages that may be affecting your area, we've launched a new online Outage Map, which features information on the size and location of the outage and estimated restoration times. If you need to report an outage, call our Customer Service at 407-423-9018 (24 hours) in Orlando/Orange County and 407-957-7373 (24 hours) in St. Cloud/Osceola County.
Hurricanes and Major Storms
If a hurricane or storm causes large-scale power outages, OUC immediately launches our established restoration response plan. OUC will:
- Evaluate the damage to our electric system
- Begin restoring power to critical areas such as hospitals, police and fire stations and other emergency facilities
- Make repairs that will restore power to the largest number of customers in the quickest and safest manner possible
- Finally, repair damage that often affects only a few individual customers at each location
