Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Requirements
Welding skills are required (structural and pipe welding). Millwright, machinist and air conditioning skills are desirable. Mechanical Training: machinist, welding and millwright courses are desirable. Must be able to show proficiency in welding skills with practical hands-on exercise. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of power plant, or 7 years of equivalent industrial multi-craft mechanical experience. Working knowledge of general industrial safety skills. Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of plant personnel, verbally and on in-plant radios and paging system. Physically able to negotiate inclines and stairs. Physically able to push, pull and lift 50 pounds. Willingness to work extended hours when and where required, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Basic Job Duties
Perform maintenance activities on steam turbine, high and low horsepower fans, bearings, hydraulic systems, centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, vertical dry pit pumps, air compressors, etc. Operate machine shop equipment and perform welding duties as required. Troubleshoot mechanical systems, including problem identification, evaluation of alternate solutions and implementation of corrective action.
