Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related area of study, or
equivalent in related experience. An MBA is preferred.
Requirements
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in the electric and financial markets. One
(1) year of supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Strong written, oral
and negotiation skills. Ability to understand production costing results, set
market prices for transactions and distinguish between cost based and market
based pricing, financial concepts and perform quantitative analysis. Willingness
to work extended hours when needed.
Basic Job Duties
Solicit, negotiate, execute, and
manage through completion the purchase and sale of bulk power at the wholesale
level to optimize the profitability of existing and new resources. Establish
and/or maintain active business relationships with both regional utilities and
energy trading counterparts. Identify key niche management opportunities and
target markets. Provide quantitative analyses of power production opportunities
from a competitive standpoint. Analyze risk scenarios and quantitative projects
as necessary. Prepare fixed and variable price marketing proposals in response
to Requests for Proposals. Evaluate profitability from production and corporate
model perspectives. Supervise and provide direction to division employees.
Market OUC’s excess power and provide OUC’s customers with the most economical
energy solutions. Administer long term contracts. Negotiate Interchange
contracts for OUC. Administer and monitor OUC’s interests in the joint
participation contracts. Serve on the Florida Municipal Power Pool’s committees.
Manage and/or participate in special projects as needed.
