Education
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required. A degree program with
a focus on electric power systems is preferred.
Requirements
Electric transmission planning, engineering or operations experience is
preferred. Planning experience with PSS/E software is highly desired.
Proficiency in use of Word, Excel, database and work management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good report writing and
presentation skills. Ability to organize and manage a variety of tasks within
schedule and budget constraints. Ability to work with a variety of people in a
team atmosphere.
Basic Job Duties
Utilizes a basic knowledge of
electrical engineering to perform power flow studies using PSS/E software to
identify, evaluate and document transmission system improvement needs. Monitors
operational characteristics of the transmission system and works closely with
the OUC Operations area to insure reliability and continuity of the system. Work
closely with the OUC Operations area regarding power flow studies and
contingency analysis. Perform ATC and TTC calculations on a routine basis.
Research and prepare documents for regulatory agencies (such as FERC, NERC, FRCC,
FPSC). Administer contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
Coordinate planning function with other areas of OUC and outside entities.
Prepare reports on study results. Prepare and make presentations.
