Successful candidates will be placed on an eligibility list, effective for six (6) months. This position is located at the Stanton Energy Center on S. Alafaya Trail, located approximately 20 miles from the Downtown Orlando Administration Building. Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Requirements Working knowledge of general industrial and power plant safety practices. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in an understandable voice with all levels of plant personnel both verbally and on in-plant radios and page systems. Physically able to negotiate inclines and stairs. Physically able to open and close valves requiring 50 pounds of force. Must be physically able to wear a respirator when required. Driver’s license must meet OUC policy standard. Willingness to work extended hours when required including nights, weekends and holidays. Basic Job Duties Perform equipment checks and monitor operations within established parameters at the Stanton Energy Center including the Main Power Plant, Flue Gas Scrubber, Brine Plant, and Material Handling. Assist in troubleshooting operational problems. Perform safe and efficient operation of equipment listed above. Employee must exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge relating to mechanical work performance. Perform other duties as may be directed by supervisor.
