OUC Board Selects General Manager & CEO Candidate

Nov 21, 2017

ORLANDO – A nationwide search to replace longtime OUC General Manager & CEO Ken Ksionek led to a final series of interviews this week. Today, the OUC board of commissioners reached a consensus to begin contract negotiations with Clint Bullock, OUC Vice President of Electric & Water Delivery to become the next General Manager & CEO of the Orlando Utilities Commission.

Bullock has served as an OUC Vice President for more than 10 years. He has led the Commission’s electric and water delivery operations including engineering, construction, maintenance and operations of the transmission and distribution systems since 2012. His tenure with the utility includes overseeing customer relations and sustainability, as well as strategic planning, conservation and renewable energy. Bullock is a second generation OUC employee – his father was a lineman – and has worked his way up from his first job as a summer student at OUC 28 years ago.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Business Administration, Bullock earned his Master of Business Administration from Rollins College.

“The board believes Clint’s proven track record of success and leadership make him the best candidate to assume the role of General Manager & CEO,” said Gregory Lee, OUC board president. “His extensive experience in the electric and water industry, combined with a unique combination of skills, will benefit the utility as it moves to add more renewables and advance technology.”

“I am very excited at the opportunity to have Clint lead OUC into the future and help Orlando achieve its goal of providing 100 percent of energy from renewables by 2050,” said Mayor Buddy Dyer.

Once negotiations are complete, the board will vote on the contract at a future Commission Meeting. Ksionek will continue as OUC’s General Manager and CEO through Feb. 1, 2018.

Ksionek will retire in February 2018, after serving the utility for the past 32 years, of which 14 were as General Manager & CEO.
